FAIRE FAIRE #2

What to do when institutions flirt with counter-cultures?

Globalization devours and sanitizes everything it touches, ready to reframe the margin even if it means swallowing it.

The tattoo is part of these anonymous but omnipresent arts, which follow their way from the craft to the contemporary art. The right-mindedness throws them away, but the wastelands, the zones are not mistaken, it is the life which one defends here, the life against the a priori in the name of the political fights, of the identity struggles.

It is not a coincidence that we find ourselves here, together, tattooed. Lesbien-pensant-es fantasize the aesthetics but push the living a little more, beyond their limits. Here, we have nothing to sell, but other things to show you; new sensitivities deep within our tattooed skins.

Opening: April 4, 6pm - 9pm
Exhibition : April 5 - 11, 11am - 7pm
First floor - Free entry

So what about Faire Fair?
Faire Fair #2 continues this research and invites practitioners to experiment with their own limits of the frame through installations and paintings. Gold-hard turns into gold, into art. A tattooist frees himself, he creates his own law, and tries for once to write himself. In the beginning, in the West, it was at the margins that people marked their skin to dissent; as far as the sailors deflecting punishment when a giant Christ on their backs prevented flogging, reputedly blasphemous. Now we are in search of resilience, a new deal.
An exhibition curated by Eve Delavie.
